Welcome to Food and Nutrition Services!
Dear Mountain View School District Parents, Guardians, and Students
In these unprecedented times, one thing is for sure, we here at Mountain View School District are trying our hardest to make our students feel safe and secure. We have been working tirelessly to try to make our students return back to school as normal as possible. Every department has developed different plans for all three different opening models. Virtual, Hybrid Learning, and Full Engagement with safety measures in place.
My team in Nutrition Services, with the help of USDA and our State Agencies, have put the following plan together to get us started with this 2020-2021 school year. As you all know, we will be starting the school year in our Virtual Model, which means the students will be studying and learning from home. Our role is to make sure that every student that attends our district has the opportunity to be served a healthy breakfast and lunch. We will be serving every day Monday thru Friday from 12:00-12:45 and then again from 1:45-2:30 for the elementary schools, and 12:00-2:30 for Grace Yokley students. Every participating student will receive 5 days’ worth of breakfast and lunch once a week on any given day Monday thru Friday at each of the school sites, through a drive-up or walk-up model. As an example, if your child attends Creek View Elementary, the parent, guardian, or student, can pick up 5 days’ worth of meals on any day during the week, once a week at Creek View Elementary with a valid student ID, by driving up or walking up to our serving area. The meals served will contain pre-packaged items that can be eaten either cold or heated quickly in the microwave, Fruits, Vegetables, Juice, and a half-gallon of milk, per student.
Like always we cannot do this alone. And we only ask three little things from our community that would greatly help us out.
1. Please come out and support our efforts, by coming by and participating in our lunch pick-up
2. Please fill out an application for our National School Lunch Program to see if your child might qualify for free or reduced price meals.
3. Please have students ID on hand when picking up meals.
As always, my team and I look forward to serving you. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
